Introduction
Although I have been creating my whole life, my venture into serious art only began in 2007. After my retirement, I found it necessary to create a new daily venture that would maintain my creative mind, body, and spirit. It was the arts that first peaked my interest. I began creating oil paintings in the early 1990's and then moved into scroll saw portraits. Challenged by several friends, I started creating poetry and then pieces of art to accompany the poems. Before I knew it, I had accumulated enough art and literature to put together my first book published in 2008. Over the years, my sister also kept me busy cutting various wood figures for her Tole Painting group. To date, I have amassed a significant collection of art and crafts.
With my previous defense industry management background, I found it necessary to organize and display my creations. My feeling was that art is meant to be shared. A web site seemed the appropriate infrastructure to satisfy my organization urges. Thus, I have learned the basics necessary to become a Webmaster enabling me to create and maintain this web site for your viewing pleasure.
Incase I'm one of your long lost friends, here's who I am in a couple short sentences....moved to Anaheim in 1952. Attended a few schools that aren't even there anymore and few that are, like Savanna and Fullerton JC. After the Air Force, graduated from Cal Poly. Worked for Hoffman, Gould, EG&G, Aerojet, and Northrop Grumman. Retired in 2007. Been married for over 52 years with a few kids and grand kids and great grand kids....there you have it, just an average Mike.
